“Transition of time / The return to homeland ”
“ If you want to understand art, you have to take a step backward.” This saying, expressing the difficulty in interpreting artistic works, may not suit the new art exhibition by “ Somboon Hormtientong ” He is an astist who travaled along distance to Munich, Germany, to create his art ,identity,and reputation for more than half of his life. And his new exhibition is just not that complicated.
“So zu Sehen” exhibition or in English, “ Just as you see it ” a strang – sounding exhibition, implies the simple yet profound concept in creating art. Just like poety, art should allow one to freely absorb the power of its beauty, and to inter prêt and construct the meaning of a piece of art for himself.
Therefore, We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend the exhibition which is Somboon’s “ Transition of time ” fromhis departure to a foreign land to the present. More than half of his life spent in munich, Germany fills his artistic works with the harmonious blend of Eastern/Western philosophines. Today, Somboon has dicided to leave his past in Germany and return to Thailand, his long – departed homeland,to create the transition of time that was lost with his journey.
If there is still or anything problematic for anyone after visiting this exhibition,just tell them like Somboon himself would say – just as you see it.
